Wall Mounting Your Plasma or LCD TV So, you got your family a new, flat screen LCD or Plasma TV. Congratulations. You've got that lucky wall decided upon to mount it in your spare bedroom that will soon become your retreat. There is only one question remaining - How to wall mount your flat screen TV? The very first thing that you should think about is whether you're going to do it on your own or hire a professional. If you're uncertain about any of the following information, you're probably better off to hire someone else to do the job. But, if you want to dirty your hands and chance making mistakes to give yourself a sense of achievement, you should certainly keep reading. After you've allocated an hour or so to get this job done and picked the wall, you'll need to determine if that wall is an exterior or interior wall. Though not the case every time, walls that are on the interior will usually give you less grief than walls on the exterior. Of course, we know that you've already made sure that your flat screen TV can be mounted on the wall, right? In the event you haven't done this yet, you don't need to stress out. Be aware that although many of the flat screen TVs now on the market are in fact mountable, there are several early models that are not. Take a look at the box. Do you see “VESA Compatible” or something similar to it? Then you're in luck, and you can go ahead. Since you've done a little bit of research and picked the right wall bracket for the display, we can go right to the enjoyable part - tools. If you have some of the basics in your home, like a tape measure, screw driver, and a drill, you are doing alright. It's also a good idea if you've got a stud finder to be sure you don't end up mounting your television in only drywall. When you have an idea of where you'd like the television, check for wall studs and make final adjustments to your placement. do not forget to confirm you're nearby an outlet or you'll just have a useless television screen on the wall. Once you have found studs, you can go ahead and affix the brackets to the back of the television screen. Take care of this prior to placing the TV mount on the wall so you know if any revisions must be made to the ultimate placement of the mount. Now, mark where the anchor bolts will need to be installed and pre-drill the holes, since they are often hard to start. Also, go ahead and cut out a space for cabling when you put in the anchors and then you can run the cables. Make sure the wall mount is leveled and then sink the anchors. Once the TV brackets and wall mount are attached, ask someone for some help lifting the television on wall. You shouldn't attempt to lift it yourself since the TVs can be awkward and heavy if they are lifted by one person. Now the best part - sit down with a cool drink and watch the game on your new wall mounted Plasma flat screen TV.
